Cagayan de Oro’s Francis Casey ‘Niño’ Alcantara and young tennis sensation Alex Eala fell short in the mixed doubles semifinals at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, losing to Thailand 7-5, 5-7, 7-10. to settle for bronze medals in the event. Eala, meanwhile still has a chance at gold in women’s singles, facing Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the final, hoping to end the Philippines’ 26-year gold drought in women’s tennis.
