Cargill Philippines, Inc., the American multinational food corporation behind the popular Purina brand, is set to expand its Animal Feed Processing Plant located in Dayawan, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. The facility currently manufactures feeds for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, serving both local and regional markets. The expansion will increase the plant’s capacity from 90,000 metric tons per year (MTPY) to 120,000 MTPY specifically for aqua feed production, strengthening its role in the growing aquaculture sector. Cargill operates in 66 countries and continues to invest in innovations supporting food security and sustainable agriculture.
This is according to the submitted Environmental Performance Report and Management Plan (EPRMP). A public hearing is scheduled on December 10.

Below are aerial photos of the facility which is just located at the back of Coca-Cola Philippines, Inc. Mega Bottling Facility.

Cargill makes its feeds using a special mix of ingredients like corn, molasses, vitamins, and proteins, with the aqua feeds also needing fish meal. Most of these materials will be sourced locally.

The expansion aims to keep up with growing market demand.

The project is expected to generate more jobs.
