First Gen Corp. is moving forward with plans to develop two run-of-river hydropower projects in Northern Mindanao—the 32-MW Bubunawan Hydropower Project in Baungon, Bukidnon, and the 39-MW San Isidro Hydropower Facility spanning Talakag, Bukidnon, and Tignapoloan, Cagayan de Oro City. These projects are part of the company’s strategy to expand its hydropower portfolio by 2030. The update was shared by First Gen senior vice president Dennis Michael Gonzales on the sidelines of the 3rd Philippine Hydro Summit and Exhibition held November 18–19, 2025 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas Center, Quezon City.
First Gen have also sought a resolution from the Cagayan de Oro City Council on the proposed San Isidro Hydropower project.
