The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP)–Claveria Campus and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region 10 have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance the Agropolis Science & Technology Park in Claveria, Misamis Oriental—an initiative envisioned as a blueprint for food security and innovation. The Agropolis S&T Park is set to become a major catalyst in transforming the municipality into Northern Mindanao’s emerging “Food City.”

Designed to boost the entire agricultural value chain, the hub focuses on improving post-harvest processes, developing value-added products, and strengthening market linkages to ensure farmers earn more from their crops.

Its strategic location—connected to major highways and urban centers like Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog—positions Claveria for stronger regional and even export market access. Over the next decade, Agropolis aims to build a sustainable ecosystem through technology transfer, precision agriculture, and agri-ecotourism, making Claveria not just a major food producer but a leading center for agricultural innovation and food security in the region.
