On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, twenty-five (25) newly hatched Hawksbill sea turtles were released at Duka Bay in Medina, Misamis Oriental with the assistance of DENR personnel. This marks the first batch from two recently discovered nests at the resort, with another nest expected to hatch soon—adding to the three already found this year. Hawksbill turtles are critically endangered, with fewer than 25,000 nesting females worldwide, and are known for returning to their birth beach to lay eggs.
