HEALTH WATCH: St. Mary’s School suspends onsite classes after eight confirmed HFMD cases in grade school [updated]

St. Mary’s School in Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City will suspend onsite classes starting this afternoon, September 11, 2025, after confirming eight cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) in its Grade School Department. In a health advisory, school officials said the campus will undergo thorough disinfection, while teachers will provide asynchronous learning tasks. Parents and students are urged to observe proper hygiene to prevent further spread of HFMD. Onsite classes are set to resume next Thursday, September 18.
