Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Carlo Paalam bowed out of the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool after suffering a deep cut above his right eye from an accidental head clash with Junior Alcantara Reyes of the Dominican Republic in the Round of 32. The fight was stopped at 2:20 of the 3rd round, with Paalam losing via 1-4 split decision.
Photo below shows the large cut just above Carlo’s right eyelid which forced the doctor to stop the fight.
