The streets of Cagayan de Oro came alive once again with color, drum and lyre, music, and cheers during the Higalaay Civic-Military Parade held today, August 27, 2025. Among the standout performances, Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) clinched the Best Marching Band award. Meanwhile, Barangay Carmen’s float entry stole the spotlight, bagging the Best Float award. Thousands of Kagay-anons lined the streets to witness this year’s parade, proving once again that the Higalaay Festival is truly one of the city’s most anticipated events.
FLOAT WINNERS:
- 1ST PLACE – Barangay Carmen (₱500,000 + trophy)
- 2ND PLACE – Barangay Lumbia (₱300,000 + trophy)
- 3RD PLACE – Oro Integrated Cooperative (₱200,000 + trophy)
MARCHING BAND WINNERS:
- 1ST PLACE – Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (₱100,000 + trophy)
- 2ND PLACE – Liceo de Cagayan University (₱75,000 + trophy)
- 3RD PLACE – Bulua National High School (₱50,000 + trophy)
SPECIAL AWARDS:
- Best in Costume – Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (₱10,000 + trophy)
