Enthronement of the ‘Veil of Manoppello’ set at Carmelite Monastery today

Today, August 19, the Carmelite Nuns of Cagayan de Oro will host a special religious event—the Enthronement of the Most Holy Face of Jesus, also known as The Veil of Manoppello. The celebration at the Carmelite Monastery in Camaman-an begins with a Recollection on the Holy Veil at 4:00 PM, followed by the Rite of Enthronement and Eucharistic Celebration at 5:30 PM. The Veil of Manoppello, a thin, translucent cloth believed by many to have covered the face of Jesus after His death and often associated with the burial linen mentioned in the Gospel of John, is at the heart of the devotion. The event is expected to draw the faithful for an afternoon of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
