Honest modern PUV conductress recovers and turns over lost cellphones to police, returned to owners

Two college students in Cagayan de Oro got their lost phones back thanks to the honesty of Carol Roma, a conductress of a Xavier Heights Liner mini bus. Roma found the phones near the corner of Hayes and 8th Streets and turned them over to nearby police officer PSSg Jacky Salvo Jumo. After proper verification, the phones were safely returned. The students praised Roma’s honesty and called her a role model for the youth.

In a Facebook post by Cagayan de Oro City Police Chief Col. Salvador Radam, the incident took place at the corner of Hayes and 8th Streets. Conductress Carol Roma said she noticed the two phones on the ground after stepping off the mini bus to drop off a passenger. Suspecting they had fallen from two students on a passing motorcycle, she attempted to catch up but was hindered by traffic.

Fortunately, she spotted PSSg Jacky Salvo Jumo of the CCADU–COCPO nearby and promptly handed the phones over to him. The owners—an 18-year-old male college student and his 17-year-old female companion—were later contacted by PSSg Jumo. After confirming their ownership, the phones were safely returned.
