Personnel from Police Station 1 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office in Divisoria have arrested the knife-wielding suspect caught on video attempting to stab another individual during an altercation along Pabayo Street on Sunday, July 20. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, prompted a swift police response in line with the directive from the Chief PNP to address incidents within 3 to 5 minutes.
UPDATE: Police later confirmed that the suspect and the victim are brothers. The younger sibling has since dropped the charges against his elder brother, who was caught on video wielding a knife. According to the investigation, the altercation stemmed from a missing pair of shorts, which the elder brother admitted to taking but forgot to return. This angered the younger brother, prompting him to throw punches. In retaliation, the elder grabbed a knife and chased him out into the street.
