The proposed 64.7-kilometer Central Mindanao High Standard Highway (Cagayan de Oro–Malaybalay Section) will include a toll plaza and five major interchanges—features that will be a first in Northern Mindanao. According to the DPWH Preparatory Survey Final Report, these interchanges will link the new highway to the existing Sayre Highway. The total project cost is estimated at P144.85 billion, with Section 1 proposed to be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Sections 2 to 5 proposed to be financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

1. CDO Toll Plaza

This toll plaza in Cagayan de Oro is actually in Tagoloan area (Casinglot) and is connected with Butuan-CDO- Iligan Road. The intersection needs to be modified to improved entry and exit to the road.

The intersection will be improved as shown below. The existing number of lanes is six lanes at this section of the Iligan-CDO-Butuan Road.

2. Mambatangan Interchange

This interchange is intended to provide access to some urban area along Sayre Highway, an alternative route to avoid an accident-prone area at existing zigzag section at Puerto.

3. Manolo Fortich Interchange

This interchange is intended to provide access to Manolo Fortich. The center of Manolo Fortich is located on the north side of this interchange. It is assumed that traffic in Manalo Fortich will use this interchange.

5. Dalwangan Interchange
