A family from Purok 5 in Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City, turned over a barn owl they had safely captured. The family did not intend to harm the bird but wanted to ensure it was turned over to the proper authorities for protection. The Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team retrieved the owl for proper care. The Barangay Council of Tablon, led by PB Romeo R. Bacarro, expressed gratitude to the family for their concern and responsible action. While barn owls are not endangered, they are still protected under Republic Act No. 9147 (Wildlife Conservation Law). If you see a similar bird, please report it or turn it over to the authorities.
