Patrons of Café Leone Modern Restaurant reminisced about its flavorful dishes and memorable experiences after learning that the stylish diner had quietly closed down after just two years in business. The restaurant quickly made a name for itself in the culinary competition, winning 2nd Runner-up at Kumbira 2023 just months after opening, and then 1st Runner-up overall in Kumbira 2024. With such achievements, its sudden closure came as a surprise.
When it first opened, Café Leone drew curiosity among food enthusiasts and diners eager to explore new spots. Its accessible location, chic interior design, cozy ambiance, lush greenery, and thoughtfully curated menu gradually attracted a loyal following.
In addition to its restaurant, Café Leone also featured function rooms available for private meetings and events.
Despite being new to the industry, it stood out in the two Kumbira events it joined—earning 2nd Runner-up in 2023 and 1st Runner-up in 2024.
When we posted that the restaurant’s space was already up for lease, many were surprised by the sudden closure.
