SIX Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Northern Mindanao have earned international recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 for advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both Bukidnon State University and MSU–Iligan Institute of Technology ranked in the 801–1000 bracket, with BukSU making a strong debut and MSU-IIT improving its position. City College of Cagayan de Oro entered the 1001–1500 bracket, alongside University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), which maintained its previous rank. Finally, Capitol University and Central Mindanao University debuted in the 1501+ tier.

The rankings highlight these institutions’ contributions to areas like quality education, sustainability, and innovation—reflecting their growing global presence and commitment to impactful development.
