The City Government of Cagayan de Oro led by City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, recently inaugurated the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at the City Engineered Sanitary Landfill Leachate Treatment Facility in Barangay Pagalungan. The project aims to improve wastewater management and prevent leachate from polluting nearby waterways, promoting environmental sustainability and public health.
The turnover ceremony was attended by key officials, including DENR-EMB Regional Director Reynaldo S. Digamo, and CLENRO Head Engr. Armen Cuenca, who all praised the initiative as a model for environmental governance. The project underscores the city’s commitment to long-term, science-based solutions aligned with national and global climate goals.
