VIDEO WATCH: Flash flood hits Brgy Camaman-an in Cagayan de Oro

Thousands of motorists, commuters, and residents were stranded, and several vehicles and properties damaged, after a sudden flash flood swept through Barangay Camaman-an in Cagayan de Oro City late Tuesday afternoon, June 10. Locals believe a cloudburst—referred to as “buhawi”— may have triggered the flood, noting it was the worst they’ve seen since the 1990s. The heavy rain brought significant rainfall that caused Bitan-ag Creek to overflow, flooding several residential and commercial areas nearby. According to PAGASA, the heavy rainfall was caused by the intensified southwest monsoon (Habagat), which led to increased runoff and street flooding.
