Army reservist, civilian killed in motorcycle crash in Gingoog City

Two people, including an army reservist, died in a head-on motorcycle collision around 3:00 AM on June 7 along Gomez Street near Cuerdo Street in Barangay 6, Gingoog City. The victims were identified as Krishia Andrea S. Obedencio, 25, a solo parent and army reservist from Barangay 17, and John Mark B. Demetillo, 25, from Barangay 14, both in Gingoog. According to police, Obedencio had just come from a bar and was driving a Yamaha Sniper with a police officer as backrider. She overtook a Honda Beat motorcycle and collided with a Euro Rock motorcycle driven by Demetillo. Both Obedencio and Demetillo were not wearing helmets during the incident. The Honda Beat driver and two passengers, as well as Obedencio’s backrider, survived but with injuries.

Meanwhile, the backrider was identified as a member of the Police Provincial Mobile Force Company, which has since issued an official statement regarding the incident. See below.
