Arnis delivered eight additional gold medals for Northern Mindanao in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa 2025 in Ilocos Norte, propelling the region to 3rd place overall in the medal standings. SHAYNE MARK MONREAL of Initao Central School in Initao, Misamis Oriental emerged as a quadruple arnis gold medalist, while JAMES CUSTODIO III of Initao National Comprehensive High School secured 3 golds in arnis. As of May 27, 2025, Northern Mindanao has amassed a total of 12 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals.
