CRIME WATCH: Bounty raised to ₱25K for suspects in fatal bag snatching of retired court employee in Valencia City

The reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the tragic bag-snatching incident that claimed the life of a retired court employee in Valencia City, Bukidnon has been raised to ₱25,000. This was disclosed by City Administrator Atty. Genaro Cadigal Jr. The victim, identified as Malou Sapanta, a retired judiciary employee, died following injuries sustained during the robbery last April 28. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, sparked outrage across the local community, with many calling for swift justice and stronger measures to ensure public safety.

In response, City Administrator Atty. Genaro Cadigal Jr. initiated a bounty, prompting concerned citizens and private individuals to contribute as well. Together, they raised the reward in the hope of encouraging witnesses or anyone with crucial information to come forward and assist in the swift apprehension of the suspects. An enhanced photo of the primary suspect from the CCTV footage has also been circulated online to aid in identification.

Anyone with credible information is urged to contact the local police or reach out directly to organizers of the reward initiative. A dedicated line and group chat for donors have been set up to ensure transparency and coordination.
