DPWH reports missing plates and pins from Wire Mesh System Slope Protection near Pryce Plaza

The DPWH Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Engineering Office (CDO 1ST DEO) recently inspected their Slope Protection Project near the Pryce Plaza Hotel perimeter fence in Carmen, after receiving a safety concern from a citizen. Their team found that 17 anchor plates and 30 sets of plates and pins were missing, causing the wire mesh slope protection to scour and detach from the ground. These missing parts are essential in holding the mesh in place to prevent landslides. Meanwhile, CDO 1ST DEO has started reassessing the area to replace the missing anchors and restore the slope’s stability.

DWPH is also urging the public to stay alert and report any issues, as missing materials may suggest possible theft. Community involvement helps protect public infrastructure.
