ELECTION WATCH: COMELEC proclaims Klarex, Rufus, Lordan, city council winners in Cagayan de Oro

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has officially proclaimed the winners of the 2025 local elections in Cagayan de Oro City. Reelected Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy and Vice Mayor Jocelyn ‘Bebot’ Rodriguez were declared victorious, along with incumbent Congressman Lordan Suan (1st District) and Congressman Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District). Also proclaimed were most candidates under the administration’s One Kagay-an slate, securing a majority in the city council. The proclamation ceremony took place at the City Council Session Hall.

Below are the FINAL and OFFICIAL TALLY.

In a hotly contested congressional race in the 1st District, incumbent Suan edged former City Vice Mayor Kikang Uy.

Suan negated Uy’s massive lead in Brgy Carmen by winning in all other Barangays except for Pigsag-an and Taglimao, which went for Uy. See map below.

Meanwhile, Cong. Rufus hardly made a sweat for the 2nd District Congressional seat.

Incumbent Klarex Uy gets his second mandate as the city’s chief executive.

Uy’s running mate, Bebot Rodriguez also gets a fresh mandate.

Uy’s slate won 15 of the 18 available seats for the City Council.
