Motorists will soon have a new alternate route from Cagayan de Oro to Manolo Fortich and Libona, Bukidnon through the upcoming “Jct BCIR – Jct Sayre Highway–Manolo Fortich–Libona–Indahag Alternate Diversion Road” project. Based on the proposed alignment, this 2-lane road will begin in Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City, along the Eastern Interior Bypass Road, then traverse the southern mountainous areas of Malasag in Cugman, eventually connecting to Barangay Palabucan in Libona, near Barangay Damilag in Manolo Fortich. Approximately ₱800 million has been allocated for the project, covering 20 kilometers of road construction divided into four packages.
Here’s the indicative road alignment. It will also traverse the Balubal-Indahag Mountain Diversion Road as shown below.
