Eighteen (18) soldiers from the 1st Special Forces Battalion in Mampayag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon were awarded Military Merit Medals for their bravery during a clash with CPP-NPA terrorists on March 10 in Sitio Kalubog, Brgy. Iba, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.
The encounter resulted in the death of two rebels and the recovery of four high-powered firearms and other war materials.
Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of 4th Infantry Division, awarded the medals to one (1) Officer, 13 Enlisted Personnel and four (4) CAFGU members for their heroic achievement during the awarding ceremony held at the 1SFBn Headquarters on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
In his talk with the troops, Maj. Gen. Anayron Jr. commended the bravery and commitment of the awardees, whose efforts played a crucial role in the 4ID’s successful mission against the CTG. He also encouraged them to stay resilient and continue striving for excellence in order to uphold peace and foster development in the communities served by the 4ID.
