Following their reunion announcement and the release of their new single “Countdown to Forever” last January, Cagayan de Oro Christian contemporary band Thoughts And Notions is now gearing up for a special new song this Lenten season.
Twenty years after entering the local music scene, Thoughts And Notions is reimagining their first-ever Praise and Worship song, “Savior.” Originally recorded in 2004 for their debut album, In Awe of His Amazing Love, the 10-track album was created as a fundraising project for their church.

The album featured 15-year-old Thrina Dimaano, the band’s vocalist, in her first full recording, with Jasper Tan as lyricist and Wilbert Tan on lead guitar. Inspired by their church music ministry, the project was a heartfelt amateur effort by the trio.
The album was meant to be a one-time project, but a Christian music label discovered the band and offered a distribution deal. This led to the album’s nationwide CD release in 2006 and encouraged the band to explore the local music scene.
They remained active in Cagayan de Oro until going their separate ways in 2009, the same year they were nominated for the NU Rock Awards. Before their hiatus, they released two albums, which were later re-released on digital streaming platforms in 2021.
The band formally reunited this year and chose to re-record their first praise and worship song, updating it for a new generation. With improved sound elements, richer textures, and greater musical maturity, the refreshed version aims to resonate with listeners for years to come.

Back then, “Savior” was performed in various CDO churches and still gets airplay on The New J 103.3FM, the city’s top source for Positive Christian Music.
With their revival, the band hopes to reconnect with old listeners while introducing a refreshed version of “Savior”, tapping into nostalgia. Their full debut album, “In Awe of His Amazing Love,” remains available on digital streaming platforms.

Both the album and the updated “Savior” are perfect for Lenten reflection, celebrating faith, and remembering God’s amazing love.
