The Comelec 2nd Division has canceled Paul Rodriguez’s congressional candidacy for Camiguin in the May 12, 2025 elections. The decision, promulgated on March 19, 2025, granted the petition of incumbent Congressman Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, citing evidence that Rodriguez did not meet the residency requirement. While Rodriguez claimed in his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) that he had lived in Camiguin for 11 years and four months, Romualdo’s evidence showed he and his family were actually residing in Cebu City during that time.
