PAF confirms FA-50 aircraft missing during ‘tactical night operations’

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has confirmed that an FA-50 fighter jet with two crew members went missing during a Tactical Night Operations shortly after midnight or early Tuesday, March 4. In a statement, PAF said the aircraft lost communication minutes before reaching its target area.

“The Philippine Air Force has launched an extensive search operation after an FA-50 fighter jet went missing during a Tactical Night Operations mission early Tuesday morning, March 4.

According to initial reports, the aircraft lost communication with its flight minutes before reaching the target area. Despite repeated attempts by the other aircraft to re-establish contact, no response was received. The rest of the flight returned to Mactan, Cebu, while efforts to locate the missing jet and its aircrew continue.

The PAF has deployed all available resources in an intensive search and rescue mission, emphasizing that their primary concern is the safety of the aircrew.
