Devotees of the Black Nazarene in Iligan City and nearby areas will soon have a dedicated place for worship, as plans are now underway to establish the Poong Jesus Nazareno Shrine in the uplands of Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City. A series of meetings have already been conducted, including the presentation of the preliminary architectural design for the six-hectare shrine complex. Site surveys and inspections have also been carried out in preparation for the project.
Below is the proposed site development plan of the project which includes a Crown Church, Nazareno statue, and parking areas, among others.

Devotees in Iligan have also started their own Traslacion during the Feast Day in January. This contributed to the decrease in number of devotees in Cagayan de Oro’s version of Traslacion.
