The much-anticipated Masterson-Balulang Road Project, which will connect Uptown Cagayan de Oro to Lower Balulang, is finally moving forward with a pre-bidding conference held yesterday. Based on the proposed indicative alignment (subject to changes due to right-of-way status and design considerations for steep terrain), the 2-lane concrete road with sidewalks will start at Masterson Avenue, pass along the perimeter of Manresa Town and Zone 1, Upper Balulang, and follow the perimeter of Camella Homes before connecting to Balulang Road. The approved budget for the project is P59.4 million.
Here’s the indicative alignment of the road opening. Total net length of the road project is 1,233.76 meters.

The initial segment from Masterson Avenue features relatively flat terrain, while the second segment navigates steep sections leading to Lower Balulang. The final alignment remains subject to changes based on right-of-way (ROW) status and design considerations for the steep road sections.

Below are screengrabs from the pre-bid conference by DPWH.

Below are Google Earth images of the starting and end points of the road opening.

BALULANG ROAD

This will be a 2-lane concrete road with sidewalk.

Once completed, the road will provide motorists with an alternative route between Uptown CDO and Lower Balulang.
Keep posted.
