CRIME WATCH: Police nab 2 suspects stealing copper wires from street lights in Villanueva, MisOr

Two suspects were arrested by police for stealing copper wires from streetlights, causing dimly lit areas along the National Highway from Barangay San Martin to Poblacion in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. Acting on reports from concerned citizens, members of the Villanueva Municipal Police Station apprehended the suspects in possession of stolen copper wires valued at P25,000. Police also confiscated tools used in the crime, including a wire cutter, screwdriver and hammer. Authorities had been monitoring the theft of copper wires for some time before successfully catching the suspects in the act.

Based on available info, the arrested suspects were identified as Erwin Canabal, 30 years old, and Ronel Cabornay, 19 years old, both residents of Ganghaan, Sta Cruz Tagoloan. They are now detained by police facing charges of theft.
