A critically endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle has returned to lay eggs along the shores of Duka Bay in Medina, Misamis Oriental. This resident turtle has once again chosen the beach at the famed Duka Bay Resort as its nesting ground. With assistance from DENR personnel, the 126 newly laid eggs have been secured to maximize their chances of hatching, which is expected to happen in the first or second week of May 2025. Once hatched, the baby turtles will be released back to the sea, contributing to the conservation of this species.
