In response to a series of road accidents in Opol and nearby El Salvador City, the Municipality of Opol in Misamis Oriental, has passed an ordinance amending its Municipal Road Use Traffic Plan. Municipal Ordinance 2024-40, approved on November 15, 2024, amends Section 46 Article VIII of Municipal Ordinance 2018-25. The updated ordinance establishes speed limits of 60 kilometers per hour (KPH) along the National Highway and 20 KPH on all streets, roads, boulevards, bridges, and ‘through streets” within the municipality. This measure aims to improve road safety and reduce the risk of further accidents.
