Netizens are praising a retired police officer for his quick thinking and compassionate actions for saving a college student from attempting to jump off Marcos Bridge in Cagayan de Oro City and providing him with emotional reassurance in a critical moment. Retired Police Colonel Christian Relevo shared the incident in a Facebook post, describing how he spotted the student on the bridge at around 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 26. Acting quickly, he grabbed the student’s hand, pulling him back to safety and averting a tragic situation.
The student reportedly shared that he was dealing with a big personal problem. Relevo, a native of Gitagum, Misamis Oriental, encouraged the student to trust in God for strength in finding the solution to his problems. After the rescue, he invited the student to lunch, during which he persuaded him to contact his parents. The parents later arrived to provide support.
