A motorist in Cagayan de Oro City captured an incident on his dashcam along Kauswagan Highway near Gaisano Warehouse on Friday night, November 15. The video showed a student walking along the road who suddenly disappeared after falling into an open, broken manhole. In a Facebook post, netizen Jun Jie shared that they immediately stopped and rescued the student who was drenched in dirty canal water and foul-smelling sludge, and brought her to her dormitory.

Here’s a closer look at the manhole, which is missing a concrete block. Jun Jie speculated that the victim, who was wearing eyeglass, may have failed to notice the broken manhole due to the glare from oncoming vehicles headlights.
