Retired 2Lt Ernesto Amar, who is 101 years old, holds the distinction of being the oldest living Philippine Army Scout Ranger. A member of Scout Ranger Class 4-1952, Amar will turn 102 this December. Army Col. Dennis Eclarin shared this in anticipation of the Scout Ranger Alumni Association’s 74th anniversary celebration, where Amar will lead the traditional Alumni March, a role reserved for the oldest ranger alive.

Originally from Zamboanga City, Amar is now living in Tarlac City.

Last August, Amar received ₽25,000 from Tarlac City as a Centenarian.
