Do you know that soon you’ll be able to travel from Dahilayan to Kisolon without passing the winding Mangima and Maluko sections of Sayre Highway? This will become a reality once the Dalirig-Kisolon Bypass Road is completed. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently bidding for Package 10 of the project, a P48.25 million investment covering a 1.5-kilometer road opening (gravel road) and right-of-way acquisition.

Here’s the alignment of the 7-kilometer bypass road (shown in BLUE), with the currently funded section highlighted in RED. This road will connect Barangay San Roque (Sumilao) to Sayre Highway at Kisolon. As mentioned earlier, from Dahilayan (Manolo Fortich), you can already travel from Sitio Bagalangit to Barangay Puntian (Sumilao). From there, take the Puntian-Villa Vista Road to reach Barangay San Roque.

Below are screengrabs from the recent bidding process.
