Vjandep’s original bakeshop in Camiguin remains a cherished landmark. Established in 1990, this humble shop located along Plaridel Street in the capital town of Mambajao, is where the now-iconic pastel — a soft bun filled with rich, creamy yema — first captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. While Vjandep’s main commissary now operates in Cagayan de Oro, the original bakeshop continues to draw tourists and loyal customers eager to experience the charm in the very place it all began.

Vjandep is an acronym of the names of the couple who started it – Retired Col. Virgilio Jose and Eleanor Popera.
