The Port of Tubod in Lanao del Norte, which offers a scenic view of the Panguil Bay bridge, is set to undergo dredging works, following confirmation from an ongoing geotechnical investigation in the area. In a Facebook post, EB Testing Center, Inc Soil Exploration revealed that the geotechnical survey is being conducted for Goldridge Construction and Development Corporation, the company perhaps responsible for the upcoming dredging operations. Dredging aims to improve the port’s capacity and ensure smoother maritime operations by removing sediment buildup.

The port used to have an active port traffic from the 1970s to the mid-1990s with regular ferry services to Ozamiz City Port and the Port of Silanga in Tangub City. However, operations slowed down and were eventually halted in late 1996 when Daima Shipping launched services at the more modern Mukas Port In Kolambugan town. Today, the Port of Tubod primarily serves as a cargo handling facility and serves passengers travelling on smaller watercraft and outriggers.
With the opening of Panguil Bay Bridge, there were rumors that some shipping firms are interested in reusing the port for inter-island domestic travel. Keep posted.
