Cagayan de Oro’s Jeremiah “JB” Borlongan finally made his senior men’s national football team debut as a late substitute against host Malaysia on September 4 at the 2024 Merdeka Cup, held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. The 25-year old Borlongan, who plays for Dynamic Herb Cebu football club, entered the game at the 81st minute. This marked a dream come true for Borlongan, who had been called up to previous senior men’s national teams but had never played until now.
