HEALTH WATCH: Bukidnon declares state of calamity after logging over 5,000 dengue cases since January 2024

The Province of Bukidnon has been placed under a state of calamity due to the surge in dengue cases. During its 103rd regular session on August 27, 2024, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed Resolution No. 2024-4109 (27th SP), officially approving the declaration. According to data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Bukidnon has recorded 5,099 dengue cases and 36 deaths since January 2024.

Malaybalay City recorded the highest number of dengue cases during the period with 926, followed by Valencia City (508), Pangantucan (485) and Manolo Fortich (430).
