HISTORY WATCH: September 2, 1940 – Inauguration of Cotabato-Bukidnon Highway now known as Sayre Highway

Did you know that on September 2, 1940, then United States High Commissioner Francis Bowes Sayre Sr and Philippine President Manuel L Quezon inaugurated the new 155-kilometer Cotabato-Bukidnon Highway? This major highway was later renamed as Sayre Highway in honor of the American diplomat who spearheaded its construction.
