Cagayan de Oro City’s Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School won the 2nd Chairman’s Cup Philippines, held from August 14-18, 2024, in Iloilo City. Led by Finals MVP Francis Lomongo, they secured the championship with an 85-75 victory over Team Capiz in the final. Despite not being the pre-tournament favorites, the team displayed remarkable talent and teamwork to clinch the title. Other teams included Cebu, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros.

The team’s success was driven by their strong defensive plays and relentless effort on the court. The roster included standout players Ian Clemeña, Yusri Amsani, Meynard Suarez, Erwin Janio, Carlos Miguel Medel, Pol Flores, Jowe Malazarte, Paul Hawinay, Kent Suyat, Jemrich Itcay, Cyjey Escalante, Francis Lomongo, John Agcopra, and Renbert Bulaso. The coaching staff, led by Head Coach Edgardo “Boy” Dacoco and supported by Assistant Coaches Pong Dacoco, Bernie Laraga, and Carlo Pelaez, played a crucial role in guiding the team to victory.

Key individual accolades included Francis Lomongo being named the Finals MVP, Renbert Bulaso making it to the Mythical Five, and Cyjey Escalante earning the Defensive Player of the Tournament award. Their performances were instrumental in securing the championship and showcasing their skill and dedication.
