Traveling soon to Tagoloan, the eastern part of Misamis Oriental, Butuan, or Agusan del Norte? Suggest to leave early, as heavy traffic is expected when the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in coordination with the Municipal Government of Tagoloan, will begin a dry run of a new traffic route plan, including a dulog and motorized traffic plan on Monday, August 5, This is in preparation for the P1.3 billion Tagoloan Bridge Project (Replacement of Permanent Weak Bridges), which will replace the old bridge built in 1968. The replacement was recommended after a 2022 assessment.
According to the online program Takna sa Padayon Pilipino, representatives of DPWH led by Roshelle Novie Cabrido disclosed the initial phase of the project amounting to P317 million with contract duration of 390 days. See some details below of the project with Contract ID 24K00184. Phase 1 of the project is now 20% completed.

All motorists will be diverted to the Tagoloan Parallel Bridge which was opened in 2007. Below are photos (screengrabs) of a monstrous traffic jam along the National Highway in Tagoloan when two trucks collided at the bridge on June 26, 2023. Authorities are expecting this kind of traffic on the bridge which is a major road link in the region.

Below is the dulog and motorized traffic plan (screengrab) related to the project. Hopefully, a clearer plan will be released soon.
