The 2024 Higalaay Festival will be officially launched on Friday, August 2 at 6 pm at the Rio de Oro Boulevard. Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy has already issued an executive order creating the City Fiesta Executive Committee that will oversee preparations, schedule and manage the calendar of activities lined up for the annual Higalaay Festival this August. As stipulated under Executive Order No. 309-2024 dated July 16, Mayor Klarex will chair the fiesta committee for the month-long festival in observance of the festivities in honor of Señor San Agustin, patron saint of Cagayan de Oro City.
Also serving as co-chairpersons of the fiesta committee were the mayor’s chief of staff Sheila B. Lumbatan and Councilor Jay Roa-Pascual who chairs the council’s tourism committee.
