Did you know that as of June 2024, four of the country’s eleven ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHP) are located in Northern Mindanao? These are Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park in Bukidnon which was declared in 2009; Mt. Malindang Range Natural Park in Misamis Occidental (2011); Mt Timpoong-Hibok-Hibok Natural Monument in Camiguin (2015); and Mt. Inayawan Range Natural Park in Lanao del Norte (2023).
These heritage parks are protected areas renowned for their ecological, biological, and cultural significance. These parks are recognized for their outstanding biodiversity, unique ecosystems, and ecological significance.
