Have you visited the PAGASA Planetarium in El Salvador City yet? As the first of its kind in Mindanao, it’s a unique and educational experience that’s not to be missed especially to children ang young students. This state-of-the-art facility offers a fascinating glimpse into the wonders of the universe. However, time is running out to catch the free show, which ends on June 20. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity before it’s too late. In the meantime, enjoy these snapshots from last week’s visit to see what you’re in for!

The Planetarium is right at the back of PAGASA Weather Station.

Inaugurated last May 17, 2024, it is the first facility of such kind in Mindanao.

On its main lobby at the entrance is a large illustration featuring the planets, moons and other astronomical features of the galaxy.

Along the hallways are large portraits of people who made a major contribution in the study of the universe.

An astronaut standee is placed for visitors to have their photos taken.

This is the dome of the Planetarium.

Initially, visitors will be given a short briefing about the facility and some house rules.

No walk-ins! Visitors must have pre-booking.

Shoe covers are required to enter the Planetarium Dome because of the carpet. Visitors can either remove their shoes or buy shoe cover for Php5 each from the guard on duty.

Food and drinks are also not allowed inside the Planetarium Dome.

After the briefing, visitors will now enter the Planetarium Dome where you can choose which seat you want.

The show then starts with PAGASA personnel explaining what is shown.

The whole dome is actually the screen so visitors will have their necks on top of their seats.

The show will definitely be a treat for children and young students.

Here are some screenshots of the show.

The show actually lasts for about 20-25 minutes.
