Xavier University’s Xavier Debate Circle (XDC), represented by Steven Paul Siawan and James Ryan Cachola, secured back-to-back championships after winning the recently concluded 15th Visayas-Mindanao Debate Championship hosted by the University of San Jose–Recoletos in Cebu City from May 29–31. Cachola and Siawan were also named overall best open speaker and second best open speaker, respectively. Congratulations!
Meanwhile, another XDC team composed of Kiarra Dlahmane Lingating and Sean Raphael Sanchez also emerged as grand finalists. Lingating also ranked third best open speaker, while Sanchez finished as sixth best open speaker.
XDC also took home best judge awards, with Marvin McHyll Batung earning the fourth best judge award and Jed Earl Tabora recognized as eighth best judge.
The event was participated by various colleges and universities across Visayas and Mindanao.
