The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) successfully conducted a full-scale emergency drill at Laguindingan Airport on May 28. The exercise simulated an aircraft catching fire after crash-landing at the airport. The simulation included scenarios involving injured passengers requiring immediate rescue and a burning aircraft needing fire suppression. The said drill is a crucial step in enhancing the airport’s emergency preparedness. Several flights were suspended for the drill, with airlines being notified weeks in advance.
