Good news for seafarers and their family members! The Associated Marine Officers & Seafarers Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) – Philippine Trade and General Workers Organization (PTGWO) – International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) will soon construct a Wellness and Activity Complex to be specifically located at Zone 4A, Igpit, Opol, Misamis Oriental. The AMOSUP-PTGWO-ITF Cagayan de Oro facility will serve all union members and their dependents, offering regular fitness and wellness programs. Additionally, it will cater to the hospitalization and medical needs of seafarers, their spouses, and dependents. This will be AMOSUP’s second facility in Mindanao.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the facility was held last May 21 and attended by AMOSUP President Dr. Conrado Oca, Opol Mayor Jayfrancis Bago, other AMOSUP executives, local officials and guests.
When completed, seafarers union members in Cagayan de Oro and surrounding areas need not go to Cebu or Davao to avail of AMOSUP’s programs and benefits.
