With the ongoing site preparations of the 21-hectare Xavier University Masterson Campus in Uptown Cagayan de Oro, Xavier-Ateneo has released some details of the upcoming campus highlighting developments which integrate eco-friendly and cost-effective designs to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and provide healthy environment for the community. These include the use of detention ponds, sewage treatment plant (STP), use of rooftop solar panel system, solar-power lighting system, green parks as learning spaces, green landscaping, lanes for bikes and electricity-generated vehicles, sustainability and wellness features or provisions of buildings and finally, flora and fauna parks.

The new campus is aimed at fulfilling XU’s vision of becoming a leading ASEAN university in 2033 while staying true to its Catholic identity and Ignatian values, coincidentally its centennial in Cagayan de Oro.
